Welcome to our class homepage.  I will continuously update this page with upcoming events, happenings, cool sites I may find along the way (or that you may share with us to add as a link on here as well.............).

In Social Studies, we will be starting our unit on Government (local, state, national).

We are going to have our mini-economy auction on march 24th.  Any gently used or new items that you would like to donate for this would be greatly appreciated.  The students are very excited about spending their well-earned money!

A great educational site........Funbrain.com!

Guess what!!!!!!!!!!  We have been mailing off our persuasive letters to the companies and people we have chosen to write to.  We look forward to hearing back from them.......!  Always an exciting experience!  Thank you for providing the stamped envelopes for this project........Reed received the first response back!  He had gotten his request, an autographed copy of the Steelers. We were so excited as he read the letter from the team to the class.....Way to go!  Alex M. has also gotten a response from Kitchen Aid- Wahoo!

Ask about "Bagels", our new class pet and excellent ActivBoard washer!  Picture below of Bagle's in action........smile!

Spelling contract this week.  Normal week with spelling quiz and spelling contract due on Friday.

Thank you to all of the Mystery Readers who have volunteered their time to come in and read to the class.  The kids greatly look forward to seeing who is going to pop in on that day.  You are more than welcome to be as creative as you would like.......dressing up is completely fine.  Remember, the kids are so incredibly excited to just see and listen to you.  You do not have to bring a treat. However, if you choose to, a healthy one would be preferred (smile).

As the year continues on, we find ourselves in need of some items.....If you are able to donate these items, that would be fabulous!

Tissue boxes

Liquid hand soap

Pre-sharpened pencils (3rd graders have this tendency to eat them while working- an amazing feat to witness!).

Any cool facts books- our class loves reading about world records.

Nature magazines or National Geographics that you would not mind donating to the class. I am going to begin our poetry unit in April and I would love to have the kids be able to do most of the work in class using these resources.
